We are seeking an experienced Head Teacher to lead our Early Education classroom team. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate educator to shape the educational experiences of young learners in a high-quality, research-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Leadership: Implement and adapt a Reggio-inspired, inquiry-based curriculum aligned with the Massachusetts framework, ensuring engaging, child-led, and hands-on learning experiences.
Classroom Management: Lead the classroom team to create a supportive, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
Mentorship: Mentor and guide assistant teachers, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and high standards in teaching practices.
Assessment and Documentation: Observe, assess, and document children's progress, using these insights to personalize learning strategies and share meaningful updates with families.
Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with families, providing regular communication about their child’s development and creating opportunities for their active involvement in the learning process.
Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure alignment with The Ivy's educational philosophy, maintain consistency, and support overall program excellence.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in an early childhood setting, with proven leadership capabilities.
Pedagogical Expertise: Strong understanding of Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or other inquiry-based learning approaches.
Skills: Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire children and colleagues alike.
Passion: Genuine enthusiasm for early childhood education and a deep commitment to fostering a love of learning in young children.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching enrichment programs such as Fine Arts, Coding, LEGO Club, Robotics, Arabic, Needlework, Knitting, Chess, as part of The Ivy’s enrichment offerings for children aged 3-12.
Familiarity with integrating technology and sustainable practices into the classroom.
