Enrichment Educator - The Arts

The Ivy is seeking a creative and experienced Fine Arts Enrichment Teacher to join our Afterschool and Weekend Enrichment division. This is a part-time role with the potential to grow into a fuller schedule as the program expands.

The ideal candidate is warm, artistic, organized, and confident teaching children across different age groups. Classes will be small, thoughtfully planned, and may include painting, sketching, claywork, mixed media, sculpture, and other creative art experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fine Arts Instruction: Design and deliver engaging fine arts lessons that introduce children to painting, sketching, claywork, mixed media, and other artistic mediums.
• Creative Exploration: Encourage creativity, experimentation, imagination, and self-expression through a variety of art forms.
• Lesson Planning: Prepare thoughtful, age-appropriate lesson plans, materials, and activities that support artistic development and confidence.
• Skill Development: Help children build foundational art skills, including drawing, color mixing, brushwork, composition, texture, form, and visual observation.
• Individual Expression: Support each child’s unique creative voice while helping them develop technique and pride in their work.
• Adapted Instruction: Adapt lessons to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of different students and age groups.
• Small Group Teaching: Lead small class sizes with a warm, structured, and inspiring teaching style.
• Studio Management: Prepare, organize, and maintain art materials, tools, and classroom/studio spaces safely and beautifully.
• Positive Learning Environment: Foster a supportive, inclusive, and encouraging environment where children feel confident exploring new artistic ideas.
• Progress Monitoring: Observe children’s artistic growth, participation, creativity, and skill development.
• Family Communication: Communicate professionally with parents when needed, sharing updates on children’s artistic progress, achievements, and completed projects.
• Program Support: Support afterschool, weekend, evening, and holiday enrichment programs as The Ivy’s Fine Arts offering grows.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with The Ivy team to ensure the arts program reflects the center’s high standards, family-centered approach, and commitment to quality.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, Design, Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience teaching art, fine arts, or creative enrichment to children.
• UAE Experience: Prior experience teaching in a UAE school, nursery, learning center, art studio, or enrichment program is preferred.
• Artistic Skills: Strong ability in one or more artistic mediums, such as painting, drawing, sketching, claywork, sculpture, printmaking, collage, or mixed media.
• Teaching Range: Ability to teach children across different ages, abilities, and levels of artistic experience.
• Age Groups: Experience teaching children between ages 3–12 is preferred.
• Classroom Management: Strong ability to manage small groups in a creative, hands-on learning environment.
• Communication: Strong English communication skills for parent updates and team collaboration.
• Availability: Must be available for part-time teaching hours, including afterschool, evenings, weekends, and/or school holiday programs.
• Safeguarding: Must be willing to complete background checks, reference checks, and any required safeguarding documentation.
• Professionalism: Must demonstrate reliability, organization, creativity, patience, and a warm, child-centered approach.
