We are seeking a warm, highly capable School Nurse for our Business Bay campus, opening this September. At The Ivy, the nurse is not a back-office function — you are one of the most visible and trusted faces of the school, central to how safe families feel leaving their children with us each morning.

Our centre features a beautifully appointed clinic within a high-end, architecturally designed environment. Operating hours are 7:30 am – 6:00 pm, with shifts scheduled within this window.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Health & Wellbeing: Oversee the health of children across the school day — daily wellness checks, care for minor injuries and illness, and warm, calm support for little ones who need it.
  • Clinic Management: Run The Ivy's on-site clinic to an impeccable standard: medication administration and records, first aid supplies, health equipment, and hygiene protocols.
  • Health Records & Compliance: Maintain accurate, confidential health records for every child — immunizations, allergies, medical conditions, and care plans — in line with DHA and KHDA requirements.
  • Allergy & Medical Care Plans: Work with families to build and maintain individual care plans for children with allergies, chronic conditions, or specific medical needs, and ensure every educator knows them cold.
  • Health Screening & Prevention: Coordinate required health screenings, monitor for communicable illness, manage exclusion protocols, and lead infection-control practices across the school.
  • Emergency Readiness: Own the school's medical emergency procedures — from response protocols to staff first aid awareness — and act decisively when it matters.
  • Family Communication: Communicate with parents about their child's health with clarity, discretion, and genuine care — the kind of communication that builds lasting trust.
  • Food & Hygiene Liaison: Support safe meal service in coordination with our catering provider, including allergy management at mealtimes.

Requirements

  • Valid DHA license (or eligibility for DHA licensure) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing; attested credentials aligned with DHA and KHDA requirements.
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; pediatric, school, or nursery nursing experience strongly preferred.
  • Current BLS certification; PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) is a significant plus.
  • Warm, reassuring manner with young children — and the composure to handle emergencies calmly.
  • Strong English proficiency; Arabic or French is a significant plus for family communication.
  • Meticulous record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Valid UAE visa or eligibility to work in the UAE; police clearance and background checks required.
  • Available to begin in August for onboarding and pre-opening training.

About You

  • Children feel safe with you within minutes — you have that rare mix of clinical competence and genuine warmth.
  • You hold an impeccable standard for cleanliness, documentation, and preparedness, and you find joy in the details.
  • You believe the early years deserve serious, professional care, and you take pride in being the person families trust most.
  • You're calm under pressure, discreet with sensitive information, and proactive about prevention rather than reaction.
  • You're a team player who enjoys teaching others — helping educators feel confident about health and first aid.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation and visa sponsorship for eligible candidates.
  • The opportunity to build the health function of a new premium school from day one — your clinic, your systems, your standard.
  • Professional development and a supportive, collaborative culture that values excellence.
  • A beautifully designed work environment, including a purpose-built clinic space.

Safeguarding Commitment

The Ivy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, background checks, and police clearance in line with KHDA requirements and our safeguarding policy.
